Electric in town plus range on the highway.

I had to go to Oregon to buy this car, and it was worth it. I consistently get 34 miles of electric driving before the hybrid mode kicks in. For me, that means Im always on electric when driving in town. I like the way it looks, a lot. It drives great. In power mode, be careful because the instant torque can hurt a passengers neck. It does great on the highway, too -- no problems passing other cars on a trip to Tahoe and back. The big display and GPS directions work well. It is very quiet on a good road. However, our city uses chip seal street surfaces and I wish that noise could be better dampened, so I rated 9 out of 10 for comfort. Otherwise, its all good.…

Currently at 97 mpg in local travel. After 25K miles at 72mpg, this includes trip from Vancouver BC to Calgary and back (mountains!). Very comfortable on long trips. The automatic cruise control separation feature really reduces leg fatigue. Surprisingly good snow handling due to precision of electric drive. Comfortable for four people, will notice performance decline unless select power mode. Dash instrument arrangement helps keep eyes on road, do wish had gone for heads-up display, just so neat. Complaints, glare off the display screen in center of dash. Somewhat limited space for suitcases and gear.…

This is a wonderful car. It is all electric in town for us. When we go on trips it gets between 55 and 70 mpg which is remarkable. The advanced model is what we have, all the fancy new features including the adaptive cruise control which is a game changer on the freeway. Buy it, you will love this car.…
